A measure of a package’s density is its volumetric weight. Courier services and shipping companies utilise this, also known as dimensional weight, to calculate the cost of a product. The higher value of the package’s actual weight and volumetric weight will be utilised to calculate the delivery fee.
As a result, shippers could lower the cost of consignments. If the whole weight is charged, it could be hard to manage a shipment of heavy but light items.
The final volumetric weight for your package will be influenced by the shipping service used and this range shows the top and bottom values for the dimensions entered. The weight calculation used can be clarified by the Service Centre during the estimate process.
